The Board provides advice to chaplains/spiritual care professionals and employers about standards of professional conduct that can be expected of Board Registered Chaplains and UKBHC Members. The Code of Conduct for Healthcare Chaplains (2024) sets out the professional standards of conduct expected of chaplains/spiritual care professionals who are registered with the UKBHC. It applies to all healthcare chaplains/spiritual care professionals who are registered with the Board or who are members of the professional associations of healthcare chaplaincy.
The Code may also be adopted as a best practice guide for volunteers, students, visiting ministers of religion and representatives of faith groups or communities who are not registered.
A Safe-guarding Policy has been developed which all UKBHC members and registered chaplains/spiritual care professionals need to be aware of as part of their standards of professional conduct.
