Chaplains/spiritual care professionals have a long tradition of working in healthcare and are recognised as a discrete professional group within the NHS and by other healthcare organisations. The four professional associations of healthcare chaplains/spiritual care professionals within the UK formed the UKBHC primarily to support the professional registration of chaplains, to advise employers on appointing healthcare chaplains/spiritual care professionals, to set standards of conduct, and to advance the body of specialised knowledge and skill of chaplaincy.
The Board’s admissions process ensure that registrants/members are professionally trained and qualified in healthcare chaplaincy. You can find details of the education and training requirements here.
