Chaplains have a long tradition of working in healthcare and are recognised as a discrete professional group within the NHS and by other healthcare organisations. The four professional associations of healthcare chaplains within the UK formed the UKBHC primarily to support the professional registration of chaplains, to advise employers on appointing healthcare chaplains, to set standards of conduct, and to advance the body of specialised knowledge and skill of chaplaincy.
The Board’s admissions process ensure that registrants are professionally trained and qualified in healthcare chaplaincy. You can find details of the education and training requirements here.
